Today, Brookwood Medical Center hosted its annual employee picnic to show their appreciation for all that the nurses, janitorial staff and other workers do on a daily basis. The senior administration served food and presented various booths at the event to provide a warm and celebratory atmosphere.
Different medical techniques were on display along with free items and a bean bag toss. One booth introduced a new doctor to the Brookwood Medical Center team. The event takes place once a year during National Hospital Week for Brookwood’s 2500 employees. Director of Marketing and Public Relations Kelly Taylor said another event will be held from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. tonight in honor of the night shift workers.
Mayor Scott McBrayer delivered a proclamation and commended the work of nurse Sara Moulton. Moulton served as the nurse on the community’s trip to Hackleburg on Saturday. She took first aid kits and tetanus shots to those affected by the tornadoes of April 27.
